Due to COVID-19, Seminole County Public Schools is seeing an increase in need for food, school supplies, and other essential items for our students. Currently, SCPS has over 1,200 homeless students and 30,000 students in low-income households. These working families are feeling the burden of the economic slowdown. The Foundation exists to enhance education in Seminole County Public Schools. You can help ensure students have the resources they need during this difficult time.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate financially to Families in Need: this is the best way to serve the greatest number of students. It allows us to utilize our vendor pricing and purchase food, hygiene items, and other supplies at a reduced rate, getting exactly what students need. Donate to FIN online at www.FoundationSCPS.org. We will use these funds to purchase food for individual families/school food pantries, hygiene items, and other supplies for students.
  • Donate non-perishable food to support local school food pantries. Make sure the food is not expired, and drop off between 10 am – 2 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays starting March 23 to these SCPS schools.
  • Donate school supplies to support students with at-home learning. All public school students are engaged in at-home learning for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year and need basic school supplies to support their education. Click here to see supplies needed. Supplies can be dropped off at:

Please share this information with others who may be able to help. If you have any students that need assistance, please ask them to visit FIN section of the SCPS website.

If you know of adults who need assistance, call United Way’s helpline by dialing 211 to be connected to Central Florida resources.
