Teacher of the Year Celebration Event
We hold fond memories of favorite teachers. Perhaps an English teacher whose animated personality brought literary characters to life! Or the math teacher who explained the problem in just the right way leading to an “aha” moment! Whoever these teachers were for you, similar teachers are the heart of our schools, working long after the last bell rings to create lesson plans and solutions to challenges in their classrooms.
Mandatory In-Service and Professional Development Conferences
Through the support of our business partners, The Foundation helps underwrite the cost of in-serve and professional development conferences. By supporting staff training and development, we are helping to sustain our A-rated school district.
Dividends Volunteer Recognition Breakfast
In 2014, more than 25,000 volunteers from our community donated 430,000 hours to K-12 classrooms throughout Seminole County Public Schools, representing approximately $9.2 million worth of services. Hundreds of teachers have benefitted from an extra pair of hands in the classroom and thousands of students have received additional support because of the Dividends volunteers.
Employee of the Year Celebration
The Foundation is committed to promoting excellence in our schools. With support from business partners, The Foundation helps sustain our A-rated school district by underwriting some costs for employee recognition.
Each year, exceptional teachers are recognized for going above and beyond in their classrooms. The Dr. Paul J. Hagerty Teacher Technology Awarded is granted to three SCPS teachers who best demonstrate exceptional use of technology. The $250 award is presented to one teacher for each level: Elementary, Middle and High School. This award is made possible through The Foundation’s Dr. Paul J. Hagerty Endowment Fund.
