The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, Inc. recently raised more than $100,000 at the 2010 Arts Alive in Seminole! – the organization’s signature fund-raiser supporting the district’s arts programs.

Held at The Westin Lake Mary, the formal event attracted 270 guests and showcased the artistic talents of Seminole County Public School students, faculty and staff through a visual arts gallery and 26 live musical, theatrical and dance performances.  Now in its 14th year, Arts Alive! has raised nearly $900,000 to date.

Funding is distributed to every school in the district allowing for the purchase of music, art supplies, instruments and equipment.  It also supports cultural art field trips through United Arts, sponsorship of music and band festivals and special arts programs.

“The Foundation is so proud to present Arts Alive!, which showcases the ‘Triple A’ experience (Academics, Arts, Athletics) that Seminole County Public Schools provides.”  said Eric Geboff, executive director of The Foundation.  “Arts education helps our students better express ideas, use creative thinking and develop problem solving skills.”
