When more than 1,000 runners congregate on the shores of Lake Monroe for the third running of the EA SPORTS Riverside Dash, they will also be assisting the children of Seminole County.

Each year, the EA SPORTS Riverside Dash provides a donation to a local non-profit. This year with EA SPORTS and the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to education, The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools has been chosen as the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from the race.

“For years, The Foundation has shown its value to our community and to our schools,” says Jason Brodeur, president & CEO of the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “As this will be our best race yet, we fully anticipate assisting this worthy organization not only financially, but by bringing awareness to its impact.”

Daryl Holt, vice president of EA SPORTS, adds: “Ensuring our youth have everything they need for success in education is important to our company and to our community. We are extremely pleased to work with the chamber on this race to benefit our students.”

The Foundation raises funds to support Seminole County Public Schools’ quest to ensure that today’s students become tomorrow’s productive citizens. The organization focuses on three funding priorities:

  • Removing barriers that keep children from coming to school ready to learn.
  • Providing resources in classrooms that enhance student performance.
  • Providing for professional development and recognition of our high performing educators and support staff.

“Our organization is always grateful when the business community supports the workforce of tomorrow,” says Davia Moss, executive director of The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools. “The EA SPORTS Riverside Dash is quickly becoming one of this region’s premier events and we are pleased to be a part of it.”

The third EA SPORTS Riverside Dash will take place on April 12, 2015 in Sanford, FL. Attendance increased more than 20 percent from the first year and already nearly 250 runners have registered for the 2015 event. In addition, the race attracts runners from around the country and world, with runners from Kenya, Great Britain, Italy and other participating. The event features the Chase 15k and the Bright House Networks 5k.

Registrations have started for each race and more information can be found at http://www.EASPORTSRiversideDash.com
