Since 2001, nearly $56 million dollars has been allocated by the Florida Legislature for the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program. The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations (CFEF) has leveraged more than double that amount in private matching dollars. For the 2020-21 school year, nearly $5 million will support projects in 62 county-wide school districts across Florida.
In Seminole County, $110,367.82 will be used to support a number of different education initiatives including: Grants for Great Ideas, Tools 4 Seminole Schools, College Tours, the new Laser Optics Physics Bus, and the beloved MudWalk.
We thank our local legislators, Sen. Jason Brodeur, , Rep. Scott Plakon, Rep. David Smith and Representative Joy Goff-Marcil, for their continued support of the state matching funds that provide support for student in need within our school district and throughout the state. We appreciate your commitment to the students of Seminole County Public Schools!
