The Seminole County community came together on Monday, April 4 to show their support for education through the Foundation for Seminole State College and The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools as over 300 sponsors, golfers and volunteers participated in the first ever Tee It Up Together hosted at Topgolf Lake Mary. The event raised over $130,000 to support both Foundations.
Addition Financial and Insurance Office of America, longtime supporters of both foundations, were Presenting Sponsors of event. Sealane Marketing/Retail Detail Merchandising, UDT/Cisco Systems and Wharton-Smith, Inc. were Double Eagle Sponsors.
“Our partners really stepped up this year to make sure students have resources to be successful from Kindergarten through College,” said Jean Vansmith, Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools executive director. “Funds from this event will help provide innovative classroom grants, mentoring for at-risk students, career/technical education, and more in Seminole County Public Schools!”
“I know we all had a great time together,” shared John Gyllin, Ed. D, vice president of Resource and Economic Development and executive director of the Foundation for Seminole State College. “It’s good to take a moment to remember why we’re doing this. This new tournament, along with the Dream Gala, helps the Foundation provide much needed scholarships and program support to deserving Seminole State students, faculty and staff.”
This event featured three main games and several contests including “Best Poker Hand,” “Putting Contest,” “Hole-in-One Contest,” “Longest Drive,” and Chance Drawings with participants having a chance to win prizes donated generously by local community.
