The Physics Bus Initiative
Launched in January 2020, the Physics Bus is an initiative designed to provide hands-on STEM experiences for 4th– and 5th-grade students across Seminole County Public Schools. This innovative program features three distinct buses, each focusing on a specific area of physics: Mechanics, Optics, and Electricity. By making scheduled stops at elementary schools, these mobile classrooms aim to cultivate critical math skills while introducing students to the fascinating world of physics. This hands-on approach is vital in inspiring young minds and preparing them for future STEM courses.
AdventHealth’s Partnership
This summer, AdventHealth partnered with the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools and the school district on a commitment to ensure the Mechanics Physics Bus can continue to inspire students for years to come. AdventHealth became the Presenting Sponsor of the Mechanics Physics Bus, demonstrating their dedication to public education and bringing hands-on learning experiences to students. Nicole Crocker, vice president and chief nursing officer at AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary & Oviedo shared:
“AdventHealth is proud to expand our partnership with Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools to inspire and prepare students to pursue careers in STEM. We are investing today for the workforce of tomorrow. We’re hopeful our efforts will encourage future physicians, nurses, clinicians, and health care leaders to pursue a mission-filled career in health care.”
This partnership highlights the crucial role that local organizations play in supporting educational initiatives, ultimately paving the way for a skilled workforce that meets the demands of our community. Thank you, AdventHealth!
