Thank you to Universal Orlando Foundation for their support during this time of unfamiliarity and crisis due to COVID-19! Their $20,000 donation to The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools will help the school district’s Families in Need (FIN) program to continue responding to the growing needs among our students.
With 30,000 low-income and over 1,500 homeless students there is a distinct need within our community to provide critical support to vulnerable populations. Many parents and guardians are experiencing significant barriers in securing food and essential supplies for their children at home. With funding from Universal Orlando, The Foundation will provide 15 high-need schools with $1,000 in flexible funding for each food pantry. These funds will be used to restock the pantries for general use and to provide students with weekend food bags. Additionally, remaining funds will be used to purchase gift card for distribution to families needing emergency access to food, hygiene supplies, and gas.
Thank you Universal Orlando for supporting our students and their families through The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools!
