We want to thank the Duke Energy Foundation for awarding a $40,000 grant to support two vital programs for the 2024-2025 school year: Take Stock in Children (TSIC) and Grants for Great Ideas (GFGI). This impactful grant will open doors for Seminole County students in need, equipping them with the resources, mentorship, and guidance to pursue high-demand careers and enrich their educational experiences.

With a strong commitment to supporting low-income, at-risk youth, Duke Energy’s investment in TSIC will help students break the cycle of poverty. Through college and career planning, students gain access to resources for career exploration, focusing on high-paying fields that offer stable employment pathways. This grant will provide them the tools to plan for successful futures, making a significant difference in their lives.

In addition to its support for TSIC, Duke Energy’s funding will enhance K-12 classrooms through the Grants for Great Ideas program. GFGI enables teachers to implement creative, hands-on projects that enrich the curriculum and go beyond standard budgets. This year’s grant will fund innovative resources and technologies, particularly for students in high-need schools, ensuring they experience a well-rounded and immersive education.

Duke Energy has long been a valued partner of the Foundation, consistently supporting initiatives that strengthen our community and elevate the quality of education. Beyond grants and sponsorships, Duke Energy employees actively engage with the Foundation by volunteering as mentors, serving on committees, and contributing on our board of directors.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Duke Energy Foundation for their unwavering support and commitment to educational equity and excellence in Seminole County. Through their generosity, students across our community can access life-changing opportunities.
